Return, Exchange & Refund Policy

At Srikalamkari, every saree is individually created and carefully inspected before it leaves our studio. As our pieces are hand-drawn and hand-painted works of art, we maintain a careful return and exchange policy to protect both the artwork and our customers.

1. Returns

We accept return requests only in the following circumstances:

• The wrong product has been delivered.
• The product has been received damaged.
• The product has a genuine manufacturing or workmanship defect that was present before delivery.

Return requests must be raised within 48 hours of delivery by contacting us through WhatsApp or email.

Please provide your order number along with clear photographs and, where possible, an unboxing video showing the condition of the package and product when received.

2. Eligibility for Return

To be eligible for a return, the saree must:

• Be unused and unworn.
• Not have been washed, dry-cleaned or altered.
• Not have been damaged, stained or soiled after delivery.
• Have all original tags, packaging and accompanying materials intact.

Products that have been worn, washed, altered, dyed, stitched, damaged or otherwise used after delivery will not be eligible for return.

3. Non-Returnable Circumstances

Returns will generally not be accepted for:

• Change of mind or personal preference.
• Colour preferences or minor variations inherent to hand-painted natural-dye textiles.
• Minor variations in hand-drawn lines, motifs, brushwork or colour application.
• Normal characteristics of natural dyes and handmade textiles.
• A natural or mild milk-like aroma resulting from the traditional milk-treatment process.
• Damage caused by incorrect washing, storage, ironing, chemicals or other improper care.
• Products that have been worn, washed, altered or used.

4. Custom or Specially Commissioned Pieces

Custom-made, personalised or specially commissioned pieces are not eligible for return or exchange unless they arrive damaged, incorrect or with a verified manufacturing defect.

5. Return Approval

Once a return request is received, Srikalamkari will review the photographs and details provided.

If the return is approved, we will provide instructions for safely returning the product.

Please do not ship a product back without receiving return instructions from us.

6. Return Shipping

If the product was delivered incorrectly, arrived damaged or has a verified pre-existing manufacturing defect, Srikalamkari will arrange or reimburse reasonable return shipping costs as applicable.

Returns arising from reasons not covered by this policy will not be accepted.

7. Refunds

Once the returned product is received and inspected, we will confirm whether it qualifies for a refund.

Where a refund is approved, the eligible amount will be refunded to the original payment method used for the purchase.

Refund processing will normally be initiated within 5–7 business days after approval, subject to payment gateway and banking timelines.

Razorpay states that refunds initiated through its platform are routed to the same payment method used for the transaction.

8. Exchanges

Where appropriate, an eligible damaged, incorrect or defective product may be replaced with the correct product, subject to availability.

If the replacement is unavailable, an eligible refund will be provided.

9. Important Note About Hand-Painted Textiles

Every Srikalamkari piece is created by hand.

Slight variations in:

• line thickness
• colour intensity
• brushwork
• motif placement
• texture
• natural-dye appearance

are inherent characteristics of handmade Kalamkari and are not considered defects.

These variations are part of what makes each piece singular.

Our Promise

We want every Srikalamkari piece to reach you safely and in the condition in which it was created.

Each saree represents hours, days and sometimes weeks of patient work by skilled artisans. We therefore encourage every customer to read the care instructions carefully and handle the textile with the same respect with which it was created.
